Ram Slot Not Working Laptop

My laptop has 2 ram slots, slot1 and slot2. At first i thought it was the ram upgrade, but that proved not to be the case due to the fact that the 2nd stick of ram works just fine in slot 1, and the original ram that came with the pc does not work if placed in slot 2.
